“Open House” in July at Readytex Art Gallery
The next Thursday-Night-Feature (TNF), that of July 4th to be exact, is almost upon us. After the memorable solo-exhibition of artist Dhiradj Ramsamoedj in June, we have scheduled a more casual and mixed ‘Open House’ event for the July TNF. And while part of the new work of Ramsamoedj will remain in the new display, the rest of the ground floor space will be filled with a diverse collection of artworks from all of the other artists represented by our gallery.
We would especially also like to direct your attention to a series of art installations by visual artist Kurt Nahar, which are displayed on the second floor of the gallery. The installations are part of work that Nahar is currently creating for his upcoming participation in an exhibition in Washington D.C. in November this year. Inter | Sectionality: Diaspora Art in the Creole City, is curated by Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) in collaboration with the Corcoran Gallery of Art. In these installations Kurt Nahar visualizes, in his unique and as always highly symbolic and expressive visual style, the history of slavery and the current challenges that these descendants of the African diaspora in our broad American and Caribbean region have in common with one another.
And of course, you can also enjoy all of the other artworks displayed throughout the rest of the gallery during this ‘Open House’. So please join us again in Readytex Art Gallery for another wonderful art-filled evening on Thursday July 4th. The doors of the gallery are open from 7:00 – 9:00 pm on this evening.
You are most welcome!
